Former US President Donald Trump considered that the conflict in Ukraine would not have begun if he had remained in power after his country's 2020 presidential election.

Trump's statement on Saturday came at a rally of supporters in Texas, where the former president hinted he was ready to participate in the next U.S. presidential election in 2024.

He added:
