US Chief Medical Adviser Anthony Fauci says he will not return to serve Donald Trump in the White House if he wins the presidency again in 2024.

Asked if he would work with Trump again, Fauci told CNN: "No."

"If you look at the history of the coronavirus response during the Trump administration, I think it could be said that it wasn't perfect," he said.

Trump has strongly indicated his intention to run for president in the 2024 election, but has yet to formally announce his candidacy.

  • Fauci repeatedly warned of the dangers of the coronavirus pandemic
  • while Trump at the time downplayed the seriousness of the virus
  • and Fauci drew scorn from conservative Republicans who wanted to end public health prevention measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

US Chief Medical Adviser Anthony Fauci said the US had emerged from the coronavirus pandemic.

Fauci noted that "we don't have 900 thousand new infections per day, dozens, tens, tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now, "he said, adding:" So yes we can say we are out of the epidemic phase. "

  1. However, Fauci warned that the United States will not "eliminate" the virus
  2. noting that the global epidemic is "continuing."
  3. He explained that "we may be able to keep the viral level low
  4. which may be by inoculating people every time, it may be once a year"

indicating that "right now, we are not in the epidemic phase. The epidemic means widespread infections around the world that are spreading rapidly among people. "

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the daily rate of coronavirus cases in the country is 47,407, while the daily average of deaths is 330

White House chief doctor: Mutant Omicron is unprecedented

US President Joe Biden's Chief Medical Adviser Anthony Fauci said on Sunday that while officials expected new variants of the COVID-19 coronavirus to emerge, they did not anticipate the scale of the changes within Omicron.

  • The American newspaper The Hill quoted Fauci as saying: "We've definitely seen strains coming.
  •  I think what was not expected was the extent of mutations in amino acid substitutes within Omycron, which is really unprecedented. "
  • He added: "Somewhat out of nowhere, there is a virus with 50 mutations, 30 in spiky protein and 10 or 12 in receptor binding. I mean to me, this is really unprecedented. "
  • However, Fauci noted that if the virus is given sufficient breeding time, it will mutate and sometimes new strains can be created, as in the case of delta strain.

"Omicron, which was first discovered in South Africa last month, has been officially monitored in 89 countries. It was officially discovered in the United States early this month, and scientists are now scrambling to learn more about the strain, including how dangerous it is. "

Fauci stressed on Sunday that Americans need to be vaccinated, or get enhanced doses if they qualify.

White House doctor: We will be able to control coronavirus in spring 2022

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Chief Medical Adviser for the White House, said that if we can get through next winter and vaccinate the vast majority of the 90 million people who have not received the vaccine in the United States, they will be able to start getting some good control of the coronavirus in the spring of 2022.

Dr. Anthony Fauci explained in an interview with CNN that people who have contracted the virus who have disposed of it are protected and we recommend that these people also receive the vaccine due to the degree of protection that can be afforded to an infected person who has recovered and subsequently received the vaccine as a significant increase in the degree of protection.

"If we can do this with infected people and re-vaccination and people who have not received vaccination now, that is, if those 90 million people receive the vaccine, I think we can get a degree of comprehensive protection for the community, and we enter the first part of 2022 by crossing winter, which may be complicated by influenza and cellular respiratory virus."

He continued: "As we enter the spring, we can start to return to a degree of normalcy, that is, rethinking the things that we hoped we would be able to do, any opening of restaurants and theatres and this kind of stuff. But again there is a great warning this very brutal virus we thought we would get this degree of freedom as we went into July summer and then a blow came with a variable that is extraordinary in its ability to spread from person to person. "

He concluded: "We hope to be there in the time frame that I mentioned correctly spring 2022, but there is no guarantee that it is up to us, and if we continue to wait without vaccinating those people who should be vaccinated, this virus can continue."
