  3. I wouldn't be here. But I have benefited from their sacrifice, I have learned from their superiority, and I am forever grateful to them. "

"Representation is important, you hear us say this a lot in this administration (White House), and nobody understands this better than President Joe Biden."

Jean-Pierre briefed reporters on her previous role as principal deputy press secretary for the White House, where she was in the briefing room, often off camera, on the presidential plane. Last May she became the second "black" woman in history to hold the daily press conference.

Jean-Pierre has served on the White House's senior communications team since Biden took office, and before that was a campaign adviser and chief of staff to his current vice president, Kamala Harris.

Karen Jean-Pierre traveled with the president on several occasions, including when she was replaced by Sake at the last minute on Biden's four-day trip to Europe, after Jane Psaki tested positive for the coronavirus.

  • The family of Jean-Pierre (lesbian) includes her partner, CNN's national correspondent, Susan Malvo, and their daughter.
  • Psaki has always been public about her intention to leave the job after one year. CNN reported that PSAKI will join MSNBC.
  • After Jane Psaki's departure from the White House administration and Biden's announcement of Jean-Pierre's promotion, Psaki invited Jean
  • Pierre to the podium and paid tribute to her colleague and friend.

She said: "She will be the first black woman, and the first LGBT person to serve in this role, which is amazing because representation is important and she will do it, and she will give a voice to so many and allow and showcase so much that is really possible. When you work hard and have a big dream, it is important and we must celebrate that ".
