Biden: Not every Republican is a MAGA extremist
US President Joe Biden said that "not every Republican member of Congress is a Republican supporter of the MAGA movement," supporting former President Donald Trump.
"I want to be clear:
- not every Republican member of Congress is
- a MAGA Republican. I know because
- I was able to work with these ordinary Republicans. "
- But an extreme group of Republicans from MAGA
- in Congress have chosen to take us back.
- Together, we can choose a different path ".
The statement comes under a fierce campaign by the Biden administration against the Republican Party, ahead of next November's midterm elections.
Biden accused MAGA of being the most radical in the country's history, prompting a response from Trump, questioning Biden's mental powers.
Biden: Trump and Republicans are extremes that
threaten the foundations of our republic and what happens in America is not normal.
President Joe Biden has said that Donald Trump and Republicans are extremes that threaten the foundations of the United States, and that much of what is happening in the country is not normal.
"It's not the majority of
- Republicans from MAGA"
- Biden said in a speech to supporters in Philadelphia
- adding, "But there is no doubt that the Republican Party today
is dominated, run and intimidated by Donald Trump and the Republicans from MAGA, and this is a threat to democracy."
MAGA is Trump's slogan (Make America Great Again), that is, "Let's make America great again."
Biden added: "Republicans Donald Trump and MAGA represent extremes that threaten the foundations of our republic. They do not respect our Constitution... They don't believe in the rule of law... They do not understand the will of the people. "
"Now America has to choose to move forward or retreat, to be a nation of hope, unity and optimism, or a nation of fear, division and darkness."
Biden said:
"There are many Americans of all sorts, who reject MAGA's extremist ideology more than those who accept it."
He added:
- "There is no place for political violence in America at all.
- We saw that in the January 6th attack
- there are a lot of political figures expecting violence.
- That's not what we should be. We will not allow violence to occur in this country ".
He continues:
- "You can only love your country when you win
- we respect our political differences
- I will not stand up to conspiracy theories in this country
I will not stand alone in rejecting the freedom to vote, and I invite all Americans to join me."
Biden added: "Democracy cannot continue when one party thinks there are only two outcomes of elections, either winning or being cheated... This is where the MAGA Republicans are today. "
He said:
"We have long told ourselves that American democracy is guaranteed. But it's not right now. We have to defend it, protect it, defend it. You cannot be a supporter of rebellion and America together ".
Continue: "I ask Americans to unite to defend our democracy regardless of your political ideology.. We the people will not allow anyone or anything to tear us apart. there are risks around us ".
