According to the South District Court of New York document :

"We write on behalf of Prosecutor Jean Carroll to update the Court and inform the plaintiff's plans to bring new charges against the defendant (Donald Trump) under the Adult Survivors Act

(New York State Act allowing adult sexual offenders to sue regardless of when the offence was committed)."

Carol previously accused Trump of attempting to rape her in the 1990s

Trump has strongly denied the accusations, calling them false.

He certainly didn't meet Carol.

He noted that she was trying to sell her new book by attacking the President.

In response, Carroll sued Trump for damaging her reputation.

In September, a New York judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the journalist against Trump accusing him of raping her, and Trump had filed a motion to stay the case in December last year.

The Justice Department petitioned for Trump's representation in the case because, according to the department's attorney, Trump's statements led to the lawsuit during his presidency, and the judge dismissed the lawsuit at the time, but it was appealed.
