According to a journalist from PBS NewsHour, members of the task force at a political rally for Donald Trump in North Carolina on Friday warned the public not to use a particular salute famously associated with the QAnon conspiracy movement.

After a similar rally in Youngstown, Ohio

which controversially saw many attendees raise their arms high in a similar way to the infamous "Sieg Heil" salute showing honor to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, members of the task force reportedly encouraged those in the crowd to evade such gestures.

It wasn't just ordinary spectators who had something to say about the events in the Ohio Rally.

Hillary Clinton, the former first lady of the United States and former Democratic presidential candidate, also criticized the events on Friday, even going so far as to compare the march to rallies in Nazi Germany.

She also likened the former president to Hitler while speaking at the Texas Tribune Festival, a recent "political and political event" in Austin, Texas.

She said, "I saw the rally in Ohio last night.

  • Trump is out there roaring and raving for over an hour
  • and you have these rows of young people with their arms raised."
  • The comparisons allegedly alarmed members of the North Carolina crowd
  • who then sought to keep such behavior at bay during Trump's time on stage.

One member of the crowd reportedly told PBS NewsHour's Lisa Desjardin that a staff member asked him to lower his arm when he raised his arm in a one-finger salute.

Desjardin took to Twitter to say that many, if not all, caucus workers were instructed to observe this type of behaviour.

They had been expressly told to avoid making this type of gesture and to shut it down, she wrote.

On stage, Trump was also seen flashing the symbol "OK" with his hand, which many pointed out was often used as a secret symbol of white supremacists frequently used by QAnon members and followers.

  • While speaking at a North Carolina event on Friday
  • Trump was sure to promote local Republican candidates who won his endorsement.
  • However, the former president also took a long time to downplay

and criticize federal investigations currently investigating his business and political practices.

Many times, he referred to Letitia James, NewYork's attorney general. Trump bizarrely called it "Picabowo," according to the News & Observer, and called it "disgusting", "racist" and "angry" to investigate his work according to The Independent.
