Trump: I can declassify documents once I think about it.   Former US President Donald Trump said he had "declassified the documents" he had taken to his home in the Mar-a-Lago resort, which had become the subject of an intense investigation from the Justice Department.    In his first interview since the FBI raided his home last August    Trump, speaking to Fox News, refused to refer to specific evidence of declassification, stating that "there doesn't have to be a process... the President of the United States can declassify only by saying that it has been declassified, even by thinking about it ".

Trump, speaking to Fox News, refused to refer to specific evidence of declassification, stating that "there doesn't have to be a process... the President of the United States can declassify only by saying that it has been declassified, even by thinking about it ".


Trump insisted that he declassified the documents when he left the White House


without indicating evidence, and said, "In other words, when I left the White House, it was declassified."


He didn't pack any boxes when he left the White House, instead leaving the job to run public services, which helps facilitate the presidential transition, he said.


Most people in the FBI, he said, may have voted for me during the election. I don't want to hurt anyone. but they came to the site .

He added, "I'm not going to go into my house and say this is great," referring to the chaos of the search.


The former President described the search as a "disgrace", stressing that he had done nothing wrong by keeping confidential documents at his home after the end of his presidency.


Trump was in New York City on the day of the raid on August 8, and announced days ago that he would return home to "see the damage of the FBI break-in."
