Russian President Vladimir Putin said Europe had not chosen the best way to solve global environmental problems, adding that it had made progress, but after cutting off Russian gas supply, it had restored everything that had been taboo.

and immediately turned on everything that was taboo, including coal power generation," Putin continued.

Putin said:

"I think the importance of the problem we are discussing today (climate change and ocean pollution) certainly makes international cooperation required. Otherwise, it is not possible to solve global problems by local means. "
