Trump claims the US "mocked" Putin by invading Ukraine
No stranger to controversy, former US President Donald Trump again makes headlines for blaming his country for "forcing" the controversial Russian president, Vladimir Putin, to invade Ukraine.
As Russia continued to procrastinate over Putin's stalled "special military operation" more than half a year ago in late February 2022.
It was not surprising that Trump
known for his vociferous nature and tendency to express his opinion, was so vocal about his dismay regarding the way current U.S. President Joe Biden handled diplomatic relations with Russia.
However
many people have long described Trump as an ally of Putin, and this situation seems to be no different in the eyes of these individuals.
Critics now accuse the former President of aligning his views with what Putin wants him to believe and adopt.
During his presentation of an interview opportunity with the ruling Real America's Voice Network, a platform that has long been very charitable of Trump throughout his presidency and after losing the election in 2020, Trump targeted the Biden administration.
He insisted that the "rhetoric"
they used in the months before Russia's invasion of Ukraine played a significant role in Putin's final decision to proceed with the attack.
- "They actually mocked him
- if you really look at him"
- Trump argued.
- Our country, and our so-called leadership, ridiculed Putin."
The former President added:
I mentioned that they nearly coerced him into sharing what they were saying. The speech was extremely foolish.
Trump appeared to hint without proper evidence to support his claimsthat Russia would never invade Ukraine if he won the 2020 presidential election and remained in the White House as president instead of handing over to Biden.
However
it should be noted that Trump did not provide any more details or specific examples of how the Biden administration "mocked" the Russian president, or how that prompted Putin to initiate an invasion.
The former president also cited his long history of working with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after Voice of America host Wayne Root suggested that Biden might send Trump in hopes of negotiating some form of peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump noted: "It's
"I got along very well with both Zelensky and Putin," Trump said. "If you remember, Zelensky was very nice because when they asked him about the Ukraine, Ukraine and Ukraine hoax - that was the phone call
- he looked at them and said
- What's wrong with the call?
- did nothing wrong ".
