From "Starbase" to Mars Musk's
plan to save humanity from Earth's inevitable fate!
American billionaire :
- Elon Musk, issued a serious warning of an inevitable danger
- threatening life on planet Earth, stressing that expansion to
- Mars is the only way to ensure the survival of humanity.
Musk explaine :
during an interview with Jesse Watters on "Fox News" on Monday
that the sun is gradually expanding and will eventually swallow the Earth
saying:
"Mars is life insurance for everyone.
Eventually :
the sun will destroy all life on Earth
so we need to become a multi-planetary civilization," he said.
Musk stressed that :
- his goal is not limited to sending a temporary mission to Mars
- but rather goes beyond that to build a self-sufficient society that
- can continue if the supply from Earth stops for any reason
whether due to a sudden disaster or a permanent interruption.
He said:
"If supply ships are essential to Mars' survival, we haven't achieved life insurance.
The focal point of the future is when Mars becomes self-sufficient," he said.
He pointed out that this stage is
"a decisive crossroads in the path of fate," an expression that Musk often uses
when talking about his major projects, including during his acquisition of
the Twitter platform (currently X).
Scientists estimate that the Sun will turn into a giant red star within about 5 billion
years, which could lead to the swallowing of Mercury, Venus, and perhaps Earth
according to NASA warnings.
Musk's warning :
coincided with the announcement of :
his victory in a local vote to transform the location of his company "SpaceX" in
Boca Chica, southern Texas, into an official city called "Starbase.".
Residents voted 173-4 in :
favor of establishing the city, most of them SpaceX
employees, who moved there after California's gender identity laws changed.
A city spokesman :
said on the X platform, "Becoming a city will help us build the best possible
community for the men and women who are building humanity's future in space.".
"Starbase"
is a major launch base for SpaceX rockets in cooperation with the Department of
Defense and NASA, with the aim of sending missions to
the Moon and then to Mars.
In 2011 :
Musk pledged to send the first human to Mars within a decade
- and later announced his intention to launch a manned mission by 2024
- before backing down and confirming last month that the first flight to
- the Red Planet would carry the "Optimus" robot from Tesla
- and it is expected to be launched at the end of 2026.
If this mission succeeds, Musk expects the first human to be sent to Mars by 2029
with 2031 likely to be the closest date to achieving the dream.
