Trump claims that :
the United States has the greatest credit
for achieving victory in World War II
US President Donald Trump expressed his belief that the United States in
particular has made the greatest contribution to achieving victory in
world wars in the modern era.
Trump wrote on social media platform :
The Truth :
"We may have won two world wars, but we never took credit for it ourselves.
Everyone acts like this! All over the world, the Allies are celebrating our victory in
World War II.
The only country that is not celebrating is the United States although it is only
thanks to us that this victory was achieved," he said.
Earlier :
Trump declared May 8 Victory Day
and said that his country did much more than other countries to win World War II
and stressed that the United States in particular won the First and Second World
Wars. But he did not declare holidays these days
explaining that "there are actually many holidays in America.".
Later :
Russian Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev described Trump's
statements as "arrogant nonsense" and advised him to remember or clarify who
controlled Berlin after crushing the enemy for more than four years
and who "liberated ungrateful Europe.".

neutral for three years prior. During the war
the United States lost more than 117,000 lives.
This war ended in November 1918 with the signing of the Armistice of Compiegne
