Trump launches a new Star Wars with
a "Golden Dome" at a cost of about $175 billion
US President Donald Trump announced that the United States has made
the decision to design the "Golden Dome" air defense missile system
which will also include interceptor missiles launched from space.
"I am pleased to announce that
we have formally outlined the design of this advanced system, which will use next
generation technologies on land, at sea and in space, including space-based sensors
and interceptor missiles" Trump said during
a White House talk with U.S.Defense Secretary Pete Higgseth.
Asked :
by a reporter how long it would take to implement the project
Trump replied, "We think it's going to take a little less than three years".
He added:
"We believe that the system will be ready for implementation
within two and a half to three years.".
"The total cost of this system when completed
is likely to be $175 billion" he continued.
Trump stressed that
"the Golden Dome project
will be integrated with our current military capabilities
- and should become fully operational by the end of my term."
- Pointing out that Canada is interested in cooperating with
- the United States to cover its territory in the new system.
On January 28 :
Trump signed a decree requiring the development of
the "Iron Dome America"
- national missile defense system. The "Financial Times"
- revealed that the system involved deploying space-based
- interceptor systems with laser weapons to destroy nuclear weapons.
The report indicated that Trump assigned Defense Secretary
Pete Higgseth to present a plan to deploy this system within 60 days.
US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that
his recent tour in the Middle East was "wonderful.".
In a speech :
he delivered before the Kennedy Center, the US President announced that
his country had returned from the Gulf tour with gains estimated
at about $5.1 trillion, describing this as "a not-so-bad achievement.".
He added
this event is probably one of the most successful visits anyone
has made anywhere. We've never seen anything like this," he said.
Trump stated that
the cost of building the Golden Dome missile defense
system represents only a small portion of those revenues.
He explained during
- a press conference with the US Secretary of Defense that the goal of
- the Golden Dome is to protect America from all missiles
- even if they come from space, including hypersonics
indicating that the project will take from two and a half to three years
and that the Golden Dome will be operational by the end of his presidential term.
Trump added
"Our golden dome is more advanced than the one owned by Israel
and everything in the golden dome will be made in America
and no one
comes close to what America has in missile technology
and we will
protect the country 100%, and the cost of
the golden dome will reach 175 billion dollars.".
