Trump: Iran would have developed a nuclear weapon within weeks had it not been for the US strikes

Trump:

Iran would have developed a nuclear weapon

within weeks had it not been for the US strikes

US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran would have been able to develop a nuclear weapon in just four weeks had it not been for US airstrikes on its nuclear facilities last June.

Trump said

in an interview with American journalist Mark Levin: "I think they would have obtained the nuclear weapon within four weeks, and they would have used it", referring to what he considered "a serious threat from Tehran".

Trump also described himself

and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as "war heroes,"

saying

  • "He is a war hero because we work together.
  • I think I am too. I was the one who sent those planes to
  • bomb Iranian nuclear facilities, but no one admits that.

It is noteworthy that

what is known as the "12-day" conflict between Israel and Iran broke out at dawn on Friday, June 13, 2025, and represented the largest direct military confrontation

between the two parties

as Israel began air strikes on Iranian sites

and assassinated military leaders and nuclear scientists

and Tehran

responded with large-scale missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory.

On June 22, 2025

the US Air Force and Navy launched attacks on three major Iranian nuclear

facilities:

  1. Fordow
  2. Natanz
  3. and Isfahan.

The US President confirmed that these strikes disrupted

Iran's nuclear program and caused severe damage to the sites.

While Iran responded

by launching a missile attack on a US military base at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, it was reported that there were no casualties among US forces in this attack.

The escalation

  1. ended with Trump announcing
  2. a ceasefire agreement that
  3. took effect on June 24, 2025.

Trump:

If Iran tries to restore its nuclear capability

the United States will return

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that the United States could strike Iran again if Tehran attempts to restore its nuclear program

We stopped

  1. the wars in the Middle East
  2. by preventing Iran from obtaining
  3. nuclear weapons Trump told reporters.

He added:

  • "They may say that they will start again, but this will be a very dangerous step
  • for them because we will come back", stressing that "
  • once they start we will come back". I think they realize that."

It is noteworthy that

Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13

and Iran responded with a counterattack within 24 hours.

The United States

entered the conflict after nine days of escalation

striking Iranian nuclear facilities in Firdou, Natanz, and Isfahan.

On the evening of June 23

Iran attacked the US Al-Aydid Air Base in Qatar, the largest in the Middle East.

Trump

  1. then announced that
  2. Israel and Iran had agreed to
  3. a truce that took effect on June 24.
