Former US Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her wishes
for a speedy recovery to former President Joe Biden
after announcing his diagnosis with aggressive prostate cancer.
A statement released by Harris
said:
"Doug (her husband) and I are heartbroken to hear of President Biden's prostate
cancer diagnosis. We include him (and former First Lady Jill Biden) and their
entire family in our hearts and prayers at this time," he said.
The statement added:
"Joe is a fighter, and I know he will meet this challenge with the same strength
toughness and optimism that has always characterized his life
and leadership. We wish him a full and speedy recovery," he said.
On Sunday :
- the New York Times quoted Biden's spokesman as saying that
- the former president was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer
- but the spokesman indicated that the disease is effectively treatable.
Now 82 :
- in 2024 Biden was forced to withdraw from the presidential
- race amid concerns about his health. He is known for
- his frequent stuttering, forgetfulness, and falls in public.
US President Donald Trump :
confirmed that he was saddened by the news that his predecessor
Joe Biden :
had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and wished him a speedy recovery.

wrote on the Truth Social platform:
"Melania (First Lady of the United States) and I are saddened to hear of
Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to
Jill (the former First Lady) and to his family
and we wish Joe a speedy and successful recovery," he said.
