"She was an object of pride"..
Musk mocks the British Navy after
comparing it to the Russian fleet
American billionaire Elon Musk mocked the British Navy, asking, "What happened
to it?" After a report showed its clear backwardness from the Russian fleet.
Musk's words came in a comment on :
the X platform on a post by one of the users :
- who indicated, citing a report by the Responsible Statecraft website
- that since 2011, Russia has built 27 submarines, 6 large frigates
- 9 corvettes, and 16 missile boats equipped with modern missiles.
On the other hand :
Britain sent only 4 ships - including one aircraft carrier
on a global tour under the slogan "Look at us," according to the author of the
publication, leaving only 9 combat ships to defend its territorial waters.
The post continued:
"Some of their other ships are in dry docks gathering dust..
One destroyer hasn't sailed since 2017.. Another sub has been 'under repair'
for two years..
What about the two large British landing ships?
They're both off and running'.
Musk commented on this by saying:
"What happened to the British Navy, which was an object of pride?".
It is noteworthy that :
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed at the end of last March that Moscow
is developing a strategy for developing the navy and a shipbuilding program until
2050, noting that the fleet constitutes the pillar of the country’s strategic security.
49 new ships in 5 years..
Putin:
Russia pays great attention to strengthening its naval capabilities
- President Vladimir Putin praised the vital role of the Russian naval fleet in
- protecting the country's national interests, noting the great interest
- that Russia attaches to enhancing the capabilities of its fleets.
President Putin noted that
the year 2024 alone witnessed the launch of 4 strategic submarines of the "Borei"
and "Yasen-M" class, carrying winged and intercontinental nuclear missiles.
He said
during a meeting with fleet commanders:
"49 ships have been built for the Russian Navy over the past five years
and the pace of the changing situation in the world and the development of
technologies require a new character for the Russian war fleet.".
He continued that :
the share of modern models in the Russian naval strategic
nuclear forces is 100%, and this level must be maintained.
He stressed :
the importance of taking into account the experiences gained when training sailors
while Russian ships must be able to solve the full range of tasks they face, stressing
the need for all drones to be integrated into a unified complex.
