Trump is impatient with Musk's criticism of

the "huge and beautiful" project

The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that President Donald Trump is

losing patience" with Elon Musk after the billionaire criticized

the "huge and beautiful" tax and spending bill.

The U.S.president

  • and his administration were surprised by Elon Musk's recent
  • criticism of Trump's key legislation, with the Tesla CEO describing
  • the bill as "full of wasteful spending.. A sickening abomination .

The "Wall Street Journal"

report, citing a senior White House official, added that Trump was also confused

as to why Musk was criticizing the bill after working closely with

the White House over the previous four months.

He stated that Musk

  • was upset by Trump's decision to withdraw the nomination of
  • Jared Isaacman, a key Musk ally, to run the National
  • Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

His frustration over NASA's decision likely made

him more willing to sharply criticize the tax bill.

The report indicated that

Musk complained to those close to him that he donated hundreds of millions of

dollars to help elect Trump, only to see his candidate withdrawn to NASA.

Musk criticized the tax bill on the grounds that

it would increase government spending and raise the deficit.

He continued

  • his criticism of the bill Wednesday, calling on his more than 200
  • million followers on the "X" platform to contact
  • their representatives and "kill the bill.".

As Musk

  • and Trump praised each other publicly, differences began to emerge in
  • the background, as Musk also opposed Trump's trade agenda
  • while clashing with some of his advisers.

He had a public spat with trade adviser Peter Navarro earlier this year.

The "Wall Street Journal" report comes nearly a week after what is supposed

to be Musk's last day working with the government.

The American billionaire

  • had headed the administration of the government agency
  • which oversaw a range of spending cuts but fell short of
  • its goal of $2 trillion in cuts.

Musk calls for Trump bill to be 'killed'

American businessman Elon Musk criticized President Donald Trump's adoption of

a large-scale initiative to reduce federal spending, describing it

as a threat to

  1. the economy
  2. calling for the project to be
  3. "buried" before it is born.

Taking to the X platform, Musk wrote: "We have to put forward a new bill that

doesn't increase the deficit and the debt ceiling by 5 trillion.. Call the Senate

call the congressman. America's bankruptcy is unacceptable! Repeal the bill".

The businessman asserted that it was "unbelievable that the country would reach

financial collapse," calling for the bill to be "repealed,"

referring to :

director Quentin Tarantino’s famous original film, "Kill Bill.".

US President Donald Trump

  • renewed his pressure on Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell
  • calling for an immediate cut in interest rates, following the release of
  • the private sector jobs report for last May, which showed

a sharp slowdown in employment.

Musk had previously criticized the bill, which Trump called "a beautiful mega

project" and which was approved by the House of Representatives

saying:

The document would cancel the results of his work in the public sector

and lead to an increase in the US budget deficit.".
