Ushakov said

that Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump expressed during

the conversation their support for the continuation of

direct negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine.


He added that they "agreed to continue close contact with each other on Ukraine and other pressing issues on the international and bilateral agenda".



"The Russian president

once again highlighted the importance of Donald Trump's personal efforts to find solutions that lead to a long-term settlement in Ukraine," Ushakov said.


He added that

Putin and Trump discussed "the need to study the possibility of raising the level of representatives of the Ukrainian and Russian sides, that is, the representatives participating in the aforementioned direct negotiations".


According to Ushakov

during the call, the Russian President extended his sincere thanks to his American counterpart for the warm reception and hospitality during their recent meeting in

Alaska, saying:

"Our President warmly thanked his American counterpart

for the warm hospitality and good organization of the summit in Alaska."


US President Donald Trump

Trump said

he did not rule out the possibility of holding a subsequent tripartite meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky if the negotiations were successful.


It is noteworthy that the presidents of 

ussia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, discussed during their meeting in Alaska on August 15 ways to settle the Ukrainian conflict.


The two leaders described the meeting positively. At the conclusion of the summit, the Russian President announced the possibility of reaching an end to the conflict in Ukraine, stressing that Russia is interested in long-term peace.


For his part

Trump indicated that he and Putin were able to agree on "several points"

related to the Ukrainian issue, but some issues remain without agreement. On the same day, he gave an interview to Fox News in which he said that the possibility of reaching an agreement on Ukraine now depends on Vladimir Zelensky.
