Who is Tyler Robinson, the prime suspect in
the assassination of American activist Charlie Kirk? Who reported it?
The Daily Mail newspaper revealed that a 22-year-old young man, who dreams of becoming a video game professional and lived with the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk, provided the police with text messages incriminating his roommate.
The Daily Mail reported that it could reveal that Lance Twigs handed over Tyler Robinson, who lived with him in a three-bedroom apartment in St. George, Utah.
According to documented testimony
from law enforcement, Twigs showed police text messages from Robinson talking about hiding a weapon linked to Wednesday's shooting of prominent right-wing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Utah, USA.
The main
suspect in Kirk's murder has been identified
- with separate reports emerging from Fox News and the New York
- Post that Robinson was living with a "transgender partner"
- cooperating with the investigation.
It is unclear whether
Lance Twigs is the same person referred to in the reports
and he is not named in the notarized testimony. Meanwhile, Jerry Twigs
his grandfather
told the Daily Mail that he was unable to comment on rumors that his grandson was transgender or that there was a transgender motive in Kirk's murder.
"I don't want to comment on that," he said. "I'm not sure exactly
where he is now," he added, adding that he had never met Robinson.
Jerry also
confirmed that his grandson
- was talking to the police, but he has not spoken to him since then
- explaining: "After he was with the police, he remained at home
- and we have no way to contact him except by going there".
Authorities
have not yet confirmed the motive
for the assassination, but Utah Governor Spencer Cox told the Wall Street Journal that Robinson was "deeply imbued with leftist ideology".
According to his Facebook page
Twigs
who hails from southern Utah, was studying at Utah Technical University. Robinson, 22, was training to become an electrician at a nearby technical college.

A listing on
Zillow's website shows photos of
Twigs and Robinson's apartment in the Fossil Hills residential complex in St. George, an area of 1,460 square feet with three beds and two bathrooms.
The property listing stated, "The current owner has room partners
who make a total of $900 per month for just two bedrooms."
Robinson sent letters to Twigs
who was not named in the law enforcement filing, "providing the need to recover a gun from the point where he left it", according to documented testimony provided by Brian Davis of the Utah Attorney General's Office.
Robinson
allegedly sent text messages about
"leaving the gun in a bush, messages about monitoring the area where the gun was left, and a message indicating that he left the gun wrapped in a towel".
The notarized certificate added:
"The letters also indicate a bullet inscription, an indication of the presence of binoculars and that the rifle is unique". Messages from Tyler's contact also indicate that he has changed his clothes.
Police said
the descriptions matched what they found: a .30-06 caliber Mauser rifle wrapped in a towel, abandoned in a wooded area near the University of Utah Valley campus shortly after Wednesday's shooting.
The notarized
testimony does not accuse Twigs of any involvement in the crime.
At his parents' nearby home Friday afternoon, Lance's father, Tyler Twigs, said no one in the family would comment on the matter, as Twigs and Robinson appeared to have become close after the alleged shooter graduated from high school.
Robinson received a $32,000 scholarship to Utah State University, but attended only one semester in 2021 majoring in elementary engineering.
Later
he attended Dixie Technical College in his hometown of St. George
located in far southwestern
Utah near the Arizona border, and was a third-year student in an electrician training program, according to a statement issued by the college.
